How Store Credit Works at NOSTOS

The Rate Difference

Every trade-in at NOSTOS has two offer tiers:

• - Cash - priced to current market value, scaling with the item up to 75%
• - Store Credit - the cash offer plus 15%

The spread is exactly 15% of the cash offer, a fixed bonus applied at the time of the trade. On a $100 market-value game, that's the difference between a $45 cash offer and a $52 credit offer.

How It's Applied

Store credit is tracked by name at intake and applied directly to your purchase total. No account, no card, no app. We keep the ledger.

Where You Spend It

In person, at the shop: 3940 Buford Hwy Suite B110, Duluth, GA 30096. The online checkout takes cards only, so a credit balance cannot be applied to a web order. Worth knowing before you pick it, because credit pays more: if you are mailing a trade-in from out of state and have no plans to visit Duluth, cash is the option you can actually use.

How Long It Lasts

Trade-in credit and gift cards are good for five years from the date of issue, the minimum Georgia law sets for a gift certificate. Welcome credits are no longer issued, and any still held run twelve months from their own issue date. None of them carries a maintenance fee, so the balance you are issued is the balance you spend.

When Credit Makes Sense

• - You're planning to buy from NOSTOS inventory (games, hardware, apparel)
• - You can get to the Duluth shop, since that is where credit is spent
• - You're trading up - selling a collection to fund a specific purchase
• - You want maximum value out of your trade-in

When Cash Makes Sense

• - You need the money now
• - You don't plan to purchase from NOSTOS
• - You're mailing a trade-in from out of state and won't be visiting the shop
• - You're clearing out a collection with no interest in retro gaming

Can I Split?

Yes - some transactions can be split between cash and credit. Ask at intake. The allocation is decided before the transaction is finalized.
